NMIX 6011 Class Project, Summer 2026
Designed a movie poster reimagining the visual identity of a selected film through the conventions of its genre. The project combines photography, typography, color, texture, and layered Photoshop elements to create a cohesive visual composition that reflects the tone and themes of the film.
Create and design a movie poster in Photoshop that effectively represents a selected film genre through its visual style, imagery, typography, and other elements commonly associated with that genre.

- Established the concept by selecting a movie to reinterpret and identified a central image to serve as the focal point of the poster.
- Explored different visual directions by using Photoshop to create several versions and mock-ups that experimenting with imagery, color palettes, and visual elements associated with the film’s genre.
- Developed the final design by selecting a direction and refined the poster by incorporating textures, cutouts, image overlays, and other Photoshop elements. Typography was color-matched to the imagery to create a cohesive visual composition.
- Prepare the final file by completing the design and exported the completed poster as a PDF.
The final poster reimagines the visual identity of the selected film through a genre-focused design that combines imagery, color, typography, texture, and layered Photoshop elements. This project strengthened my ability to develop a visual concept from the initial idea through final execution while using Photoshop to create a cohesive and engaging composition.
