Project Three Reflection
The best way to describe my overall thoughts on Project Three is that I almost had to unlearn a lot of what I’ve been learning this semester.
WordPress as a whole is a wonderful! I love how easy it is to upload and update information across the site (once you get a hang of it). Now, that I can navigate through the /wp-admin page to customize it, I can definitely see myself using it in the future.
Content Site
Honestly, uploading (or copying) the content from other sites and applying the overall theme was a breeze. The part that I struggled with for a little bit was specifically targeting certain areas of the theme’s design or WordPress block elements.
I had researched and watched the lectures for the week, and for the life of me couldn’t figure out how to adjust the custom css in both the settings and theme panel. (The screenshots to the right show where I was struggling and what was happening when I tried to add additional css on the settings panel of the page.)
In order to adjust theme and target specific aspects, I had to use the wp-admin/customize.php link. After I figured out how to target specific aspects that way, it was really easy to adjust any issues or change the theme.
Overall, for the Content Site I am proud of the diversity of post styles and the consistency of theme implementation across the board. I definitely stretched myself adding a variety of media plug ins from downloaded videos to audio content to imbedded YouTube videos.
Commerce Site
Building the content site was also fairly easy as well. I felt like the WooCommerce plugin was easy to navigate and understand.
One thing that I learned when building out the different products is how to add variables to products to show different versions of each and what is available.
Since a lot of products were completed projects per-say I often used one photo (or a gallery of photos to show the different variations).
Pieces that I intentionally added were tags and categories on listings to help users find like products easily by searching. I also adjusted the typography to allow for more readability and specific targeted default text as seen in the screenshots below.

In this section pieces that I am proud of include the simple block adjustments, product variations, and adding blocks to listings that link to other projects.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, I found WordPress extremely easy to work with once you know how to navigate the wp-admin site and unlearn a few things from Bootstrap.
As a whole, I am proud of how the project turned out and how the theme (a variation of Twenty Twenty-Five) represents the content well. Plugins that were used to build this site are: WooCommerce, Limit Login Attempts, and All-in-One WP Migration.
