The Why

Plants have become one of my favorite things to keep in my environment around me. There are many benefits for having plants in the spaces that you spend time in through out your days. While I am not a master gardener, I have learned alot about the benefits for plants and I want to share them with you!

Benefits of Indoor Plants

There are several benefits for having houseplants (or plants that are inside most of the year), here are some of those benefits:

  • Stress Reduction: interacting with and caring for plants actively reduces blood pressure and your body's stress response.
  • Cognitive Preformance: adding plants (and greenery) into your spaces helps improve focus, memory, and productivity.
  • Enchanced Healing: hospital patients with indoor plants in their rooms report a reduced need for pain medication and faster recovery times.

  • Increased Humidity: plants release moisture vapor, which helps soothe dry airways, reduces dust, and prevents dry skin.
  • Pollutant Reduction: acting as nautral air purifers, certain plants remove the polluants in the air by absorbing airborne toxins and mold spores.
  • More Oxygen: plants absorb carbon dixoide and release oxygen, which helps reduce drowsiness and headaches
